Even Adam Lanza's dad has no idea what led to Sandy Hook massacre

Peter Lanza, father of alleged Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza, released a statement Saturday that offered little insight into his son's motives. Many hoped Peter Lanza might be able to illuminate some of what drove his son to cause such deliberate devastation on his hometown, especially since it was confirmed Nancy Lanza had no ties to the school. But even he had no understanding of what led to the massacre. "Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. … We too are asking why. We have cooperated fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired."
