12/26/2012[Spoiler Alert] In the cruelest comic twist ever, the end has come for Peter Parker, the alter-ego of the "Amazing Spider-Man." He bites the dust in issue No. 700, released Wednesday. But that's only half of the reason for the depth of fans' dismay. Spidey will live on, but inhabiting the costume will be none other than ... Doctor Octopus! While losing the last battle to his arch-enemy, Peter manages a soul swap that leaves Doc Ock a force for good, though not without a familiar arrogance. That's why the next series will be called "Superior Spider-Man." Oh, what a tangled web. [Source]
