3 new petitions to White House call for gun control discussion12/14/2012
The White House's statement that today isn't the day to have a debate over gun control isn't sitting well with many people across the country. In fact, three individuals have already launched separate petitions on the White House website to address gun control. One petition calls for Congress to immediately address the issue of gun control through the introduction of legislation. Two others urge officials to discuss the issue, with one petition calling for a specific time and place to be set, and the other asking for a national conversation on "sensible gun control" to take place. Currently, all three petitions are well short of the 25,000 signatures needed by Jan. 13 for an official White House response.
