Petty Red Sox Manager already upset at Yankees
3/23/2012Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine is the early MLB leader in annoying. Valentine ordered a suicide squeeze to tie the Red Sox-Yankees spring training game at 4-4, then was miffed when Yankees manager Joe Girardi exercised his prerogative not to play extra innings. Valentine said he was concerned about making Clayton Mortensen warm up and then having "to answer to a pitcher who's trying to make the team." Of course, Bobby V has used Mortensen all of six innings this spring and could have thrown him in innings earlier. But that wouldn't give the manager leave to dart Giardi for not being "courteous." Unlike, you know, Valentine.
Do you think Bobby Valentine is right?
