Nothing generic about these drugs: Lab is missing $700K in gold dust
12/8/2012No wonder the price of prescription medicines is sky high. Police are conducting an investigation at Pfizer Inc.'s medical research lab in Missouri after an employee discovered during inventory that $700,000 worth of gold dust was missing from an unlocked cabinet. It's unclear whether it was used and not accounted for, stolen or misplaced. The Pfizer folks aren't saying just what function the gold dust serves in its research, though a study at Rice University once concluded it could help relieve side effects of chemotherapy. It's also often needed by hospital patients to cover the cost of a couple of aspirin. [Source]
