Photographer creates underwater world for below-sea exhibit
8/7/2012Where better to view a series of photographs of a fictional, submerged world than deep underwater? Photographer Andreas Franke had to know he was seriously cutting down on the chances for a record turn-out to his show by mounting it 145 feet beneath the waves, on a ship sunk several miles off Key West. Scuba divers, though, can visit the show, "The Vandenberg: Life Below the Surface," by swimming down to the site, where they'll see ghostly images of normal activities – from ballet class to a Friday-night movie to a raid on a gumball machine – all set within the sunken Vandenberg boat. The gallery above features some of the images. [Source]
