Meet the pineapple that is worth more than your car

Meet the world's most expensive piece of fruit: the $16,000 pineapple. That's how much it cost to grow the fruit at the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall, England. The pineapple was raised using only Victorian horticultural techniques, which included spoiling the spiky treat with horse urine and 30 tons of manure and straw. A spokesman said the fruit was expected to be “deliciously sweet with an explosive flavor.” He did not say “it will pretty much taste like the ones at the supermarket.” At least the price means no one will put it on a pizza.
