'Breedist' rule that required euthanizing pit bulls is rolled back

If you're still heartbroken over Lennox, the pit bull-type pup who was killed in Northern Ireland because of his breed, take some comfort that 'breedist' laws are beginning to change. An Ohio county commission voted Tuesday to allow pit bulls – which had to be euthanized under previous laws – to be adopted by rescue groups. Although the public will still not be able to adopt the dogs, organizations with proper training can now save the pooches from being put down. Fairfield County Commissioners will also be discussing whether to switch from gassing dogs to lethal injection, which some advocates believe is more humane. [Source]
