Pity parade for bullied bus monitor jumps shark
6/29/2012Of course we feel horrible that Karen Klein was mercilessly bullied while working as a bus monitor. She deserves an outpouring of apology and love to help rebuild her spirit. But this giddy, flower-festooned sympathy tour may be getting out of hand. The 68-year-old woman from Greece, N.Y., was welcomed as a hero in Boston yesterday, where she arrived via stretch limo, was greeted by cheerleaders and walked a red carpet before being presented with an honorary certificate. Girlfriend even got a free duck-boat tour.
"I've never had this much attention in my whole life," Klein told the AP. We hope she can handle the rush of all this fame better than Susan Boyle did.
Do you think these celebrations for Klein are getting to be a bit much?
