Plan to hide huge stolen truck in sand fails to fool cops
4/5/2012Following a lead on a stolen 26-foot-long box truck, airborne New York police spotted the vehicle in question in the middle of an attempt to bury it beneath a mountain of sand. The suspect was using a bulldozer to cover the truck in a sand pit on his father's property; police say they also recovered two stolen backhoes and a missing car on the 77-acre parcel. MSNBC.com reports the duo face stolen property charges but have yet to be officially charged. We just wonder why anyone would steal something functional, like a truck, only to cover it with sand -- perhaps, like a dog with a bone, they were burying it for later?
Why were the thieves burying the truck?
