Plane door plummets onto posh Fla. golf course
5/24/2012The main cabin door of a private jet carrying several passengers fell from the sky yesterday and crash-landed on the fairway of a championship golf course in South Florida. The Canadair CL60 departed yesterday from Opa-locka Executive Airport, bound for Pompano Beach, when the unwelcome object apparently fell between two condo towers and then skidded onto the course at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hallandale Beach. No one was injured, and the aircraft was safely diverted to Fort Lauderdale. Luckily, the golf course is closed just two days a year for maintenance, and this was one of them.
