New app improves your chats with houseplants, won't help with sanity
2/5/2013If you were seeking a deeper, more meaningful dialogue with your house plants, today’s your lucky day. Oso Technologies has created Plant Link, an app and sensor system that lets your potted pals "talk" with you (although by "talk," they mostly mean "say 'I'm thirsty'"). A combination of soil sensors and software constantly monitors plant water levels and sends instant alerts to owners when the plants need water. Users can keep in touch with their best fronds via the app, email or text message. We bet it's pretty weird when a ficus plant texts, "Hey. Are you still up?" at 1 a.m. on a Saturday. [Source]
