Police throw plunger-wielding bank robber in the can

4/13/2012

Nobody wants to be at the wrong end of a toilet plunger -- especially a bank teller in the middle of a robbery. Police say that 49-year-old Lawrence Deptola was arrested in Utica after he "threatened a teller with the plunger," the AP reports. Two other area banks had already called the cops because the suspect looked "suspicious" (we're thinking his plunger accessory was the main tip-off). The cops chased Deptola down on foot, but, thankfully, "the plunger was recovered," according to the Utica Observer-Dispatch. Breathe easy, America. Another alleged criminal has been flushed off the streets of upstate New York.
