POM rubs healthy prostate in FTC's face with ad campaign
5/27/2012This juicy scandal is being called a "stick in the eye" to the Federal Trade Commission: POM juice is cherry-picking phrases from a recent legal battle with the FTC and using them in full-page ads across the country. In a ruling on the case that was largely in the FTC's favor, stating that POM's ads are deceptive and POM cannot treat heart disease, prostate cancer or erectile dysfunction, the judge conceded that pomegranate juice generally supports prostate health, a statement POM is quoting in full-page ads today. (Because if there's one thing you want to associate with refreshment, it's prostates..) The case is expected to go into appeal, but for now POM can safely taunt the FTC.
Do you drink POM?
