Report: Pope Benedict resigned after learning of gay bishops
2/22/2013Pope Benedict doesn't have much luck with documents. It started with "Vatileaks," when Pope Benedict's butler was arrested for leaking documents and correspondence that portrayed the Vatican as "a seething hotbed of intrigue and infighting." Now, it's reported that the pope commissioned a two-volume, 300-page document that ended up exposing a network of gay bishops within the Vatican, and the power they held over Vatican officials. According to an Italian newspaper, the bombshell was reportedly given to Pope Benedict on Dec. 17 and — huge coincidence! — that's also the day he decided to resign. A papal spokesman would neither confirm nor deny the existence of the document. Hmmm. Maybe the pope wears a tall hat so he can fill it full of secret papers. [Source]
