12/12/2012After more than a week of speculation about what his first 140 characters would be, Pope Benedict XVI has finally typed his first tweet, which was full of "Hobbit" spoilers. WE KID! "Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter," He wrote. "I bless all of you from my heart." Benedict has been in what, for him, seems like a tweet frenzy this morning, posting three messages in his first hour online. (Ugh, don’t be a feed hog, Your Holiness.) Popespotters know that his handlers tweeted messages from his Lenten teachings during the spring, but this morning is the first time he's pushed up the sleeves of his robe and posted something himself.
