Pope pardons ex-butler who leaked the pontiff's private papers
12/22/2012You can say this about the Pope: He'll practice what he preaches. The pontiff has pardoned his former butler, Paolo Gabriele, after Gabriele was sentenced to 18 months in prison for leaking the pope's private papers. The pope visited the light-fingered valet in prison "to confirm his forgiveness and communicate in person his decision to grant Mr. Gabriele's request for pardon, thereby remitting [his] sentence," said a Vatican statement, after which the butler was immediately released. It must be tough to have the Pope as your boss, since he’s duty-bound to forgive all your mistakes. Who wouldn’t take liberties under management like that? [Source]
