Pope's butler tossed in Vatican jail for allegedly leaking docs
5/26/2012Someone toss in a fresh urinal cake and put new sheets on the cot because the Vatican jail has a houseguest, and it's none other than the pope's personal butler. Paolo Gabriele was arrested and charged with leaking embarrassing and sensitive Vatican documents to the Italian media in a scandal known as Vatileaks. The leaked documents have contained allegations of corruption with how the Vatican awarded work contracts as well as personal letters to Pope Benedict XVI. Gabriele, who was one of the few people with access to the papal apartments, was allegedly found with confidential documents in his possession and is now getting to know his own personal Swiss Guard.
Do you think the leaking of documents keeps institutions honest?
