Post office hero responds to girl who addressed letter to heaven
11/24/2012Here's a story that makes us hope the U.S. Post Office doesn't go away: Meredith is 4 years old. Her dog Abbey died, and she is distraught. Mom suggests writing a letter to heaven, asking that their new four-legged friend be looked after. So Meredith writes a note and mails it. A few days later, a gold package arrives. Inside is a copy of Mr. Rogers’ book "When a Pet Dies," and a letter. "Dear Meredith," it starts, "Abbey arrived safely in heaven ... I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart ... Love, God." [Source]
