Pre-Emmys murder-suicide evokes Whitney's death

The Beverly Hilton is not the place to pre-party. An elderly couple died in a murder-suicide there last night, just hours before tonight's Daytime Emmy awards, which are slated to be held at the hotel. The incident was reminiscent of Whitney Houston's death in February, one day before the Grammys, when she was found dead in a bathtub at the same hotel. The most recent victims had been shot. According to the Associated Press, Beverly Hills had just six homicides since 2008, many of which drew national attention. To add insult to injury, the Daytime Emmys were scheduled to go on as planned.
