Precocious 7-year-old admits to being a serial arsonist

Talk about a little hellion. A seven-year-old boy in Juneau, Alaska, has been identified by authorities as being the person responsible for an arson spree. The boy admitted that he had set at least five small fires, causing about $1,000 in damages. The boy, who will not be jailed, said he set the fires with a lighter he found. Investigators said they did not know "whether he was troubled or if he just had a 'real strong fascination' with fire." It's possible the precocious arsonist might have set more fires, since he's a suspect in two other small fires.
