Pregnant teen sues parents so they can't force her to have an abortion
2/13/2013A 16-year-old Texas girl has filed a lawsuit against her parents to prevent them from forcing her to have an abortion. The girl, identified only by the initials R.E.K., said that her parents, Jeffrey and Denise Watts Koen, have been "coercing her to have an abortion with both verbal and physical threats and harassment." R.E.K. is reportedly nine weeks pregnant and has lived with her grandparents for the past several months. According to the lawsuit, the teen's mother suggested that her grandparents "slip R.E.K. an abortion pill through deception." A judge granted a temporary restraining order, with another hearing scheduled for Friday. "They cannot drag her to get an abortion [or] force an abortion on our client," her lawyer said. [Source]
