President Barack Obama made a phone call from the White House to a distinguished player in the Democratic National Convention coverage, stressing the significance of the important guest's role. "Hey, this is Barack," he spoofed in the promotional video, which the Obama campaign released this afternoon. "Listen, I need to know if you're on board. Okay, good. Because I'm counting on you. Everybody is." The camera then pans to actor Kal Penn who, despite the fact that he's signed up to host a web-only convention Thursday night, appears to have no idea what the prez is talking about. Shortly after the video was posted, Penn tweeted, "Just got off the phone with the president. It was pretty intense."
