Republicans thank YouTube gods for viral Obama 'redistribution' speech
9/19/2012After the fallout of the "47 percent" secret video that leaked earlier this week, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is hitting back at President Obama after an old speech the president gave surfaced. In an audio recording from 1998 that's gone viral on YouTube, Obama, then an Illinois state senator, tells a Loyola University audience that he believes in the redistribution of wealth in America. "I actually believe in some redistribution, at least at a certain level to make sure that everybody's got a shot," Obama says. Romney is jumping on this clear difference between the candidates, responding, "I think a society based upon a government-centered nation where government … redistributes money, that's the wrong course for America."
