5/4/2012For a bunch of brainiac weathermen, someone at NOAA had his head in the clouds when the agency posted an ad seeking a magician for a staff leadership training event -- at a time when the public is in an uproar over excessive spending. NOAA sought someone to use "experiential exercises, physical energizers, magic tricks, puzzles, brain teasers, word games, humor and teambuilding exercises." Sounds like fun, but is this how we want to spend taxpayer money?
To top it off, the scienc-y NOAA nerds don't seem to know how the ad got posted. The ad's been pulled, but not in time for the agency to avoid catching hell -- with one senator crying "taxpayer abuse" and calling the ad "outrageous."
