Pro-pot activist hopes your grandma will fire up a fat one
5/29/2012There's a reason the movie wasn't called "Harold and Kumar's Grandparents Go to White Castle." The over-65 set usually votes against pro-marijuana legislation, but a former federal inmate hopes to change that. Robert Platshorn, who served nearly 30 years for drug smuggling, is speaking out to seniors, trying to get them to stop seeing pot as an illegal substance and more as a legit medical treatment. "Nobody in the marijuana movement is talking to seniors," Platshorn said. "[But] seniors are the only damn people that go to the polls." Platshorn's group, the Silver Tour, has been pitching its weed-friendly message at retirement communities and religious centers (no, really) around Florida. Yes We Can-nabis, eh, Gramps?
Can you picture your grandparents smoking pot?
