Prof posits ferocious fleas sucked dinosaurs dry

Were dinosaurs the original fleabags? Zoologist George Poinar Jr. says they were. The insects that feasted on T-Rex blood were several times the size of today's fleas, and had totally, totally nasty blood-sucking beaks. "It looks like a syringe when you go to the doctor to get a shot or something," Poinar said. These disease-carrying demons were the only animal capable of successfully launching a deadly attack on dinos. "Anything else that was larger would definitely have been eliminated," he said.
