Just had my mother on the phone. She can't understand why Sofa King has been told to ditch its ad slogan. http://t.co/zaeqcyrI

Prudish Brits ban cleverly profane slogan
2/29/2012Prudish Brits have banned the literary antics of one cheeky sofa store. Sofa King has used the catchphrase, "Where the Prices are Sofa King Low!" for nine years, but the Advertising Standards Authority has deemed the phrase to be offensive because it could be interpreted as a derivative of the swear word "f**k." (Now do you get it?) The ASA is demanding that Sofa King delete it from its shop front and delivery trucks. Sofa King insists the words have "not been changed or run together or punctuation used in a way intended to cause offence."
