25 percent of Americans just pretend they know about deficit reduction

12/5/2012

According to a recent poll, 25 percent of Americans have an opinion — either for or against — the Panetta-Burns deficit-reduction plan. Also, 25 percent of Americans are dumb, because that was just a made-up thing that the testers used to see "how many Americans would profess to have an opinion about a policy that did not exist." Public Policy Polling, the alliterative organization that conducted the study, did learn that 39 percent of Americans held opinions about the very real Simpson-Bowles deficit-reduction plan. We’re just gonna assume that anyone who didn't have a preference was busy wondering if Homer Simpson and Montgomery Burns were involved with either of them. [Source]
