At least 800 people in Florida really want to kill pythons

1/13/2013

Wanna catch some snakes? Join the 800-plus snake-hunting hopefuls who signed up for Florida’s month-long "Python Challenge," which began Saturday afternoon in Davie. The point of said challenge? To bag the biggest python, of course. Cash prizes will be granted for whoever brings in the longest python and whoever kills the most pythons by the time the competition closes on Feb. 10. Of course, the hunt is also intended to help the Everglades deal with its nasty Burmese python invasion (ew). More exotic species of reptiles and amphibians call Florida home than anywhere else in the world. But maybe not for long? [Source]
