Man arrested in alleged plot to attack Federal Reserve
10/17/2012Authorities have arrested a man they said was planning an attack on the Federal Reserve building in New York City. According to NBC 4 New York, an FBI and NYPD sting operation led to the arrest of a suspect identified as 21-year-old Quazi Nafis. Law enforcement officials arrested Nafis Wednesday morning after he parked a van loaded with explosives next to the Fed building in Lower Manhattan. He was arrested by the FBI after leaving the van. Officials said Nafis was the target of a sting in which his two accomplices were an FBI agent and an informant. The explosives in the van were rendered inoperable, and the public was never in danger, authorities said. [Source]
