Queen rules the Opening Ceremonies with ... James Bond

7/27/2012

Who says the queen of England doesn't have a sense of humor? It was a no-brainer that Elizabeth II would be participating in some way in tonight's Opening Ceremonies, but she did it in by far the coolest way ever: by sharing the screen with James Bond! A pre-taped clip featured Daniel Craig snaking through Buckingham Palace for an audience with Her Majesty, and after making him wait for a few minutes, she solidified her place in cool by uttering, "Good evening, Mr. Bond." @x_Danawana tweeted, "I'm sorry but, the Queen saying 'good evening, Mr Bond' has made this whole thing worth watching." But as if that wasn't enough, she and Bond then parachuted into the Olympic stadium from a helicopter. That's how you make an entrance.
