Queen reveals secret desire to be on a soup can, buys Warhol portraits

9/24/2012

Long live the queen's ego! Elizabeth II has just snapped up four screen prints by Andy Warhol depicting the queen herself. In honor of the queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Royal Collection purchased the prints, created by the legendary pop artist in 1985 as part of his "Reigning Queens" series, which also depicts Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Ntombi Twala of Swaziland. The prints will be featured in an exhibit of the queen's portraits celebrating her six decades on the throne. Some people really know how to stretch out their 15 minutes of fame. [Source]
