Questionable cop makes $60K while suspended from job
7/2/2012Sgt. German Bosque has been jailed three times, suspended from his job nine times and fired six times. He's currently at home, drawing a $60,000 paycheck while the circumstances around his most recent suspension are investigated. How does he keep his job? That's a question for the Opa-Locka (Fla.) Police Department. Bosque's issues began before he even graduated from the police academy — he was kicked out for possession of a firearm and impersonating an officer. His first arrest came two years later. Bosque isn't alone; the 68 officers on the Opa-Locka PD faced 41 internal investigations last year. And that was before the internal-affairs investigator was fired for lying about his background. Oh, Florida!
What should happen to lousy cops?
