Quirky South Dakota campaign ad charms Internet

Unless you live in South Dakota, you probably had no idea who Jeff Barth was until yesterday. That's when a five-minute clip promoting Barth's candidacy for Congress hit the Web. In the charming video, Barth (the commissioner of Minnehaha County) touts his offbeat credentials while walking down a trail filled with funky props. His talking points include: living in Lesotho, learning to play chess in Iceland and riding an ostrich. His next video idea if he wins the Democratic nomination? A canoe, because it's a "similar thing where you go down the river or whatever, and you can keep chitchatting."
