R. Kelly skips interviews to cope with gross health issue

​R. Kelly has a new memoir and album out, but he's not giving interviews. No, it's not that the singer simply believes his new projects can fly on his own. An emergency health issue related to surgery he had last summer to drain an abscess on one of his tonsils (eeeew!) has reportedly cropped up, and he's had to return to Chicago for treatment, canceling planned New York appearances on the "Today" show and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." A statement from his reps says it's "unclear how long Kelly may be sidelined," the Los Angeles Times reports, but given the tepid reviews of his non-tell-all tome, he might want to heal fast and start talking it up.
