Rabid beaver sinks mighty teeth into swimming sisters

What is it with rabid animals ruining our leisure time these days? We’ve had raccoons attacking a jogger, an otter biting a swimmer, and now a mad beaver has taken a violent dislike to two sisters swimming in a lake in Louisa, Va. The sisters, aged 11 and 8, were having fun in Lake Anna when the rabid beaver bit the both of them. They were treated at the hospital for their injuries and are now back at home. Their uncle reportedly shot and killed the beaver before the authorities reached the scene. The unlucky girls are having rabies shots, with the Virginia Department of Health saying it's only the fourth time in a decade that a beaver in their state has been confirmed to have rabies. [Source]
