Unbelievably racist job ad insists Indians and Asians need not apply
8/29/2012Will it surprise you to learn that a lot of people are very unhappy with a job listing that stipulated "No Indians or Asians please"? (Note: A polite "please" doesn't make racism any less racist.) The online listing, for a cleaning position at a supermarket in Hobart, Australia, also required that applicants "must speak English." It was removed from the classifieds site it appeared on after it sparked a furor on Facebook. A spokesperson from the supermarket chain was quick to explain that the ad was posted by a third-party contractor who (we're glad to say) is no longer connected to the company. [Source]
