Future US Olympic uniforms will be made in the USA

7/14/2012

Designer Ralph Lauren and the U.S. Olympic Committee drew intense criticism—including admonishments from members of Congress—when it was learned the uniforms he designed for the U.S. Olympic team were made in China. Today, Lauren pledged that the uniforms for the 2014 Winter Olympics will be American-made. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was among the most vocal critics, saying the USOC “should be ashamed of themselves” for having the manufacture of the uniforms outsourced. After today’s announcement, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Steve Israel wrote a joint letter thanking the USOC for “hearing our voices and working to correct this mistake going forward.” [Source]
