If someone says to you, "I have three pumas in my apartment," chances are you’d think they’re missing a shoe. If Rasa Veliute says it to you, well, make sure you’re not carrying any raw meat when you walk through her door. The 23-year-old woman in Klaipeda, Lithuania, took three puma cubs home from the zoo where she volunteers after the cubs' mom started ignoring them. It’s actually legal in Lithuania to keep such animals at home, and she says the cute fur balls are happy. PETA might dispute that, but Veliute keeps Kipsas, Gipse and Kinde content with chicken meals and play sessions with her dog. Surprisingly, the zoo had no problem with Rasa raising the cats in an apartment, but Veliute says they are growing quickly and will probably be headed back to the zoo this summer. [Source]
