Prim Brits try to reframe their rat problem, but it's still gross
12/17/2012Ever mindful of preserving England's prim reputation, rat statisticians have set to work debunking the disgusting old adage that you're always within six feet of a rat when standing on British soil. And thanks to a bit of mathematical magic, the new rule is that you're actually 164 feet from a beady-eyed creature when you're hanging out in England. So while nightmarish viral images of ginormous English rats may lead you to believe the critters are taking over, experts now say that humans outnumber rats 6 to 1. Sure, 10.5 million British rats still sound gross, but it's far less repulsive than Florida McDonald's employees slaughtering rats at mealtime, America-style. [Source]
