Real deal hero saves little girl who fell three floors
7/17/2012People throw the word "hero" around like it’s going out of style, but here’s one instance where the recipient is entirely deserving of that badge of honor. In this heart-stopping amateur footage, a 52-year-old Brooklyn man spots a young girl “teetering” on an air-conditioning unit three floors up. He positions himself under her with his arms out, and snatches her from the jaws of serious injury, if not death. “The only thing I could do was save her,” said Stephen St. Bernard, an MTA bus driver. “You know, she’s a little kid.” St. Bernard’s daughter, also seven, wasn’t surprised by her dad’s unequivocal heroism, telling reporters he carries her around all the time.
