Thanks to this Internet scientist, those of us without blowtorches, balls of nickel and giant freezers can now see the surprising awesomeness that is a red hot nickel ball on top of a block of ice. It seems like a lot of preparation for about 30 seconds of entertainment, but the noise that the ball makes as it boils through the ice makes everything else worthwhile.
