One year later, we remember Amy by watching her US debut
7/23/2012Monday marks one year since the death of Amy Winehouse, and her powerful voice and retro-inspired persona are still in the minds of music fans. It's hard to believe that it has been five years since she made her American television debut, as a tiny figure on David Letterman's stage with a style and sound that she seemingly borrowed from mid-1960s Motown. "Rehab" is still her signature track, and despite the sadly autobiographical turn that the lyrics took, there's no better way to remember her than with a look back at the performance that introduced her to America, back when it seemed like her potential was the only thing bigger than her beehive.
