Parents slammed for forcing kid to hold 'I have no respect' sign

Renee and Gentry Nickell have faced serious criticism after punishing their 13-year-old daughter by making her stand at a busy intersection holding a sign. The girl, whose name hasn't been released, spent 90 minutes holding a poster reading "I'm a Self-entitled teenager w/no Respect for authority. I’m also super smart, yet I have 3 ‘D’s’ because I DON’T CARE." That made passersby angry (and not because 'self-entitled' isn't a word). One driver called the cops, who said the girl "was not in any harm." Renee says their daughter has struggled since her uncle's death in Iraq but conventional punishments haven't worked.
