Iowa rep really hopes Sandy victims won't blow aid on Gucci bags10/31/2012
Well, let's add another track to "Steve King's Greatest Hits," along with supporting Todd Akin and bragging about "wiping out" animal rights. As millions survey the damage from Hurricane Sandy, the Iowa congressman is already worried about what victims will do with the federal aid they haven't received yet. "I want them to get the resources that are necessary," he said Tuesday night during a debate. "But they need to come with a plan on how to spend it, because [after Hurricane Katrina] they spent it on Gucci bags and massage parlors." King was one of only 11 members of Congress who opposed a 2005 bill to help those affected by Katrina. King's opponent, Christie Vilsack, called his comments "heartless." [Source]
