Reporter kicked out of murder trial for wearing 'disco pants'
6/28/2012Murder trials: Such a downer. That's why we're thinking reporter Laura McQuillan decided to wear gold sparkly pants to Wellington's High Court in New Zealand -- to bring a little cheer to the courtroom. Alas, McQuillan's eye-catching attire was not well-received. McQuillan, 25, was there to cover a murder trial for NZ Newswire, but a registrar approached her and asked her to leave. "I don't know why people are acting like they've never seen sequined pants before," protested the young journalist on Twitter, sparking discussion on how appropriate "disco pants" are for such an occasion.
Is it acceptable to wear "disco pants" to court?
