Scientists develop dissolving condom (which is smarter than it sounds)

12/6/2012

Slipping one past the goalie might soon be impossible. Researchers at the University of Washington believe they've come up with a way to manufacture the most badass female condom ever, thanks to technology called "electrospinning." Cloth-like fibers can be woven from medicine into ultra-thin webs, preventing not only pregnancy but also sexually transmitted diseases. They can also be designed to dissolve after use, either within minutes or over several days. A $1 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will help develop the technology, which seems to include everything but a tactful way to tell the guy, "Don't call me again." [Source]
