Brazilian shop owner creates ad from video of his store's own robbery
1/22/2013This is perhaps the world's best-ever example of making metaphorical lemonade from lemons. Rony Meisler, the owner of a Sao Paulo fashion boutique called Reserva, was the victim of a couple of smash-and-grab robberies by local gangsters, but he didn't mope. Instead, he used the security footage of the robbery in his own advertising. In one ad, footage shows the gang driving off with Meisler's goods while the text reads "Why are people doing such crazy stuff for Reserva?" "They stole my clothes, and we stole their image," Meisler says. [Source]
