Restaurant-receipt news service keeps polite diners up to date
1/14/2013Restaurant-going news junkies polite enough not to check their phones while eating will be pleased to hear about a new service dubbed "The Latest News." The service prints news that broke while diners were eating on their restaurant receipts, so they can brush up on happenings while paying their bills. The service is now being offered at Washington, D.C.'s Old Ebbitt Grill. Publisher Leland Schwartz thinks the news, updated every two minutes, will seem fresh to diners who have been in a "virtual news blackout" because they refrained from checking their phones while eating. Of course, that may be putting a lot of faith in adherence to etiquette. [Source]
